It may seem ridiculous to you, but there's a lot more White people than Latinos, so sometimes we look for some comradery. He's also in Puerto Rico, so he may be looking for Spanish speaking players, or other Ricans to bond with. I wouldn't think twice about an Irish, German, or Italian thread where folks might want to gather and talk about their heritage (ie. the hertiage thread) - people naturally gravitate towards others like them - so actually, it's not ridiculous at all.

Ok so ridiculous was probably not the best choice word but since the term Latino was historically penned to describe people from across continents and races, I find the question just as vague as using white men.
