I don't watch a lot of documentaries but the History Channel (I believe the history channel or it might have been another channel) had a good one about the Einsatzgruppen. It was really good because the death of the Jews in eastern Europe is a pretty unknown story for me and it was very moving. Unfortunately, I forgot the name of it. But with a little research, you might be able to find it.

Darwin's Nightmare - about how the seemingly innocent release of a predatory fish into Lake Victoria has led to illegal firearms being flown to a war-torn Angola. It is a beautiful portrait of the inevitable and painful reality of the erosion of the local marketplace, the breakdown of communities, and the environmental disaster that awaits as the lake slowly dies.

'Earth From Space'
I caught it on National Geographic a week or so back (Sky channel 526, uk) it's repeated again this coming Sunday at 10:00 am.
It's a fascinating look at the processes of global ecosystems, how and why things work. It covers a broad spectrum of the natural workings of our planet, with information already known combined with that of research using a dozen or so sattellites.
A lot of it is stuff you'll know a little about anyway, but this documentary elaborates on that understanding.
On the plus side, it doesn't focus much time on the global warming nonsense. 😄
