General Discussion Forum Etiquette

This is a post to help others understand the social etiquette that posting in the GD generally entails. This is in no way intended to be rules to the forum, just more of an overview of what myself(and others) have observed during our time in the GD. So I would like everyone to post what they feel is their most important "rule" to success in the forums. I will start us off with, It is okay to have an opinion, it is okay to voice that opinion, but there is a place and a time. If you are unsure of how people will take it, don't post it.
So feel free to share!

Don't go shit talking and saying a bunch of things you'll regret, and apologize for it expecting everyone to forgive you.
-
Speak your mind, but word it very carefully and know what you are talking about, don't just post for the sake of posting something
-
Use proper English.

If you don't want to hear and talk about my penis, then I don't want to hear and talk about your religious beliefs

A) Ask for real life advice here instead of with trusted friends, family members, or clergy.
2) If you're losing an argument, start trolling to create the appearance that you never really cared to begin with.
D) Be condescending! No one will respect you unless you mention the "great noob migration" or talk about how much better GD was "back in the day" (you know, 2010).
£) Vishbume, Knight (aka Jesus), Greenman, Hillbilly, The Man, FreeMason, BrownNote, and Ghetto Monstaz are always right. If two of them disagree, it's actually you who are wrong.
🐷) Johnny O and the Massholes cannot be blamed for having the best sports teams in the US (4 championships in 4 sports in 9 years - your teams will never be this good).
) GD is not filler, it's not to be taken lightly, this is srs bzns.

This should read in reverse for it is Mr.Knight who flexes a far greater ability to raconteur whereas I ramble.
Etiquette to posting? No need to threaten people in real life nor belittle or harass another player. In short, show respect. Use the GD to get to know others and they you (for better or worse pursuant to your want). -

Although I'd add that you shouldn't post until you've spent at least a week reading threads -
Expect that if you stop posting, you become invisible.
No Matter what kind of mark you leave on people,
If you disappear, you will be forgotten.Unless you really piss people off... Don't expect to be forgotten if you really make people mad

My favorite rule is don't make a thread unless it has something in any minute sense to do with real life..... And to make sure that others view it as pertaining to real life before posting it so as to not dispute the first and primary rule given by the individual I am quoting.
