The Hall of Fame explained
Forums › General Discussion › The Hall of Fame explained-
Recently I decided that Turf Wars does need to have an official "Unofficial Turf Wars Hall of Fame". So, I set out and found a committee of 5 people who will vote mobsters into it. I chose people that I felt fit all three qualifications.
1. They are respected in the Turf Wars community
2. They are spread out into different regions
3. They could be impartial with their votingSo, the people on the Turf Wars Hall of fame committee are myself, Bella (west coast representative), Night (central rep)Johnny O (east coast rep) and finally Howard (the overseas representative).
Sometime next month, the 5 of us will each nominate 3 people to go onto the Turf Wars Hall of Fame ballot. We will then vote again on those ballot members for the 3 inductees. The top 3 vote getters will be inducted into the Hall of Fame on October 1st, the one year anniversary of Turf Wars. New inductees will be voted in every 3 months, each time having 3 members get in

I kept this at a small number because I wanted to make sure that this Hall of Fame was viewed as a prestigious honor and didn't get watered down.
To be eligible for the Hall of Fame, you must have either one full year of active playing of turf wars or have been retired from the game for at least 6 months. In the first actual induction, we are bending the rules a little to allow that anyone who started in the month of October is eligible to be voted in. Players who have been banned from the game by Nick are not eligible for the HOF. Think of it like baseball players getting caught using steroids. I asked the voters to take gameplay and forum interaction into account in their voting.
The players that get voted in will be contacted to see if they want to make their own induction speech or if they would like to have someone write one for them. If they aren't contactable, I will contact someone to make their speech.
-
The 3 inductees will be the only names that we make public that were on the ballot. The people that weren't voted in will be kept private between the voters.
So, I think I covered it all. I am excited about giving honor to current and former turf wars legends.

Fuck you. So I'm never eligible?

😭😭😭😭😭😭

How very US centric. barf.

I wonder who that could be👀 -
Are the committee members able to nominate themselves? If so this would be really unfair.

Actually I think there are 2 very worthy players who fit that bill. As for Naughtyjames comment, I got a Rep from the UK in Howard so you guys can be spoken for.Turf🐑Warrior wrote: or have been retired from the game for at least 6 months.

No they can't nominate themselves for the ballot. I don't think they'd have to if they are worthy. I am not sure who or how many of the players in the committee are hall of famers. Are the committee members able to nominate themselves? If so this would be really unfair.

I agree 4/5 of the whole the hall of fame comitee come from the USA. Somehow I don't think that 80% of the players of this game come from the USA! Doesn't sound like a fair representation of the tw community to me!How very US centric. barf.

Committee that is meant to be! Not comitee Can't let a post with that bad spelling stay without comment!

like Tdub said, this is unofficial. If you feel that way, start your own uk based HOF or something.naughtyjames wrote:

This idea sucks balls... Who has the write to nominate other people or be on the "committee", its is going to be so bias and alot of ass licking going on!

Geez so many UK people crying about this maybe I should change it to North American hall of fame. Sucks if I have to do that because UK's own Tyresius is a guy I want to get in there. I try making a thread to do good and I get a bunch of people bitchin about it. Geez
-
Is the jury still out on whether tyresius was banned?

The UK players are complaining about not being properly represented? I am not sure, but there maybe a history lesson in reverse going on here 😜.

Oh that's right I forgot about that. I guess if there are questions of whether he was banned or not he doesn't get my voteIs the jury still out on whether tyresius was banned?

And you're right belial. If you are a true hall of famer you are known worldwide not just in your own country. Schultzie, Noremac, and Tyresius all made names for themselves. All from overseas

I do think that the committee should be bigger than 5 people. I think 11 would be more appropriate. HOF is a big deal and a 5 person committee is a very narrow view to judge by. Just sayin.
-
By the way, I love the idea Dizzle.
-
I think there should be minimum requirements for entry as well as other contributions.

Great idea. Sounds good as you have it but how about 1-2 more overseas players be haps someone from HK and maybe Australia?
-
In America you can go on the air and kid the politicians, and the politicians can go on the air and kid the people
