I had a pacifier until I was 5. I've been told many times by my wife and others that I show no emotions.
Did the article say anything about boys with pacifiers not washing their balls??
-
Or this study was conducted during the peak of Facebook?

Haha, my boss and I were just having this conversation an hour ago. She said her theory is that breastfed men grow up to love boobs. One of my gay male coworkers said he wasn't breastfed & he liked boobs. Another gay male coworker argued that everyone loves boobs...or ass. then she asked what I thought. I was about to get into some long, drawn out, poorly thought out Freudian discussion about the Electra complex and oral fixations, etc., but all that came out was, "yeah, boobs are cool."I was breast fed. Maybe that's why I love dem boobs!!!!

There's also a study on that circumcised men are devoid of emational levels that uncircumcised men can achieve and a reverse study that by regrowing the foreskin, the circumcised men are noticeably more emotional on certain subjects.
I'm circumcised and a cold hearted bastard on most emotional occasions.
Used a pacifier too.. But only till 2, sO does that mean I'm doubly emotionless? -

Ehh... That's not what the study says at all. This isn't semantics, be careful how you phrase things.A study proved that boys that used pacifiers at an early age become emotionally detached
The study said there seems to be a link between higher emotional detachment and pacifier use in boys. Not, "if you used a pacifier it is proof that you're now emotionally detached."

To explain further, research that finds correlation is not "proving" anything. If I found research that showed redheads were slightly more likely to die in car accidents than the mean, that would be a correlation. It certainly wouldn't prove anything. Correlation does not mean causation.
This study says men are emotionally detached if they used pacifiers. The study relies on men to self report whether they used them, so already the sample group itself is suspect. The study finds a lower correlation between female pacifier use and emotional detachment, with no mention of the fact that men are likely more emotionally detached as a group to begin with. I scream bullshit, to be honest. But hey - thanks for posting something interesting. 👍

I have no idea if I used a dummy... (silly yanks!) lol
I can tell you that I'm pretty detatched from giving two hoots about anybody elses problems right now. Way too many of my own to contend with. ✌
