So is i weird that my iPad wont update? I go to my settings, then general, then software update and it says it is up to date. How do i get ios6?

Probably need to go to iTunes and do a manual update from there.

Go to your device and press the button on the info tab "Check for updates" after that it will look for updates and then ask you to download it and install, say yes and then wait about an hour or two for it to download and install.

I'm kind of scared to update, when I updated to ios 5, it erased all of my apps and music.

Wait until the first update to iOS 6 to upgrade. rule of thumb- let everyone else be the early adopter of new changes. stick with what works.

If its a first gen iPad it can't get iOS 6. If its not then I have no clue
