So I'm going to be in San Antonio for a couple months starting December 18 for Air Force Basic at Lackland AFB, and was wondering what the weather in San Antonio is like during that time of year. Also, I'll be heading to Keesler AFB in Biloxi, Mississippi for 6 months shortly after for my tech school training. What's the spring and summer like in Biloxi? Thank!

Did you go into the AFB after going through CAP Cadet Program or directly into AFB. I'm in CAP Cadet Program.
-
I'm enlisting...so I went directly in. Right now I'm just in the delayed entry program until I leave. I haven't heard of CAP
-
Biloxi is like "Africa hot"
-
Oh well CAP is the AF Cadet Program I'm right now a cadet Senior Airman. Good Luck
-
Oh ok...so does it go through college programs, or are you actually in the military, a type of training?
-
San Antonio will be cold that time of year with warms days sprinkled in just to throw you off.
-
It go from when you're 12-21 years old if you get the highest rank you could be automatically granted into the air force academy!
-
Oh nice!! I've never heard that before, and I lived on the Air Force Academy for 3.5 years!

San Antonio is very hot in the summer and cold in the winter, Biloxi is hit and humid

During winter, it will be cool (25-35 during the coolest part of the day) -
Go to intellicast and look up the avg temperatures for the months. You're going to love tx hill country and certainly Austin. Good luck to you.

It doesn't really matter what the weather is going to be at Lackland. You will be issued ABU's. You will lock up your civilian clothes for the duration except arrival and graduation. Don't bother bringing a watch either, not like you will have anyplace to go. Keesler will be different. A little more freedom. What is your AFSC going to be? Also, regardless what others say, going Blue is the best choice.

Congratulations, do whats required and you'll enjoy your time and you might make a career out of it; I have, getting ready to hit the 32 year mark. If you should need any advice PM me before basic training.

I had basic at Lackland during Jan/Feb back in 2004. I remember there being some pretty chilly days. It helps you wake up though....
Good luck to you!! -
