I feel sick now! I almost possibly go murderd tonight!

I was walking home from work, like I normally do...I was about a block away from turning on my street when 3 men on the other side were walking in the opposite direction. One of them then crossed the street and had what appeared to look like a hand gun...it's 11 pm my time, so it's pretty dark and couldn't get a good look at it or them. So I kept walking, turned around, and the was starting looking at me like I was crazy walking away from a gun...so I turned back around then called 911. I ID a kid my age (18) who fit my discription...my guess is that I let a couple of thugs intimidate me 😞 who most likely aren't holding a gun

That sounds scary... Hope everything's alright:)

Poor guy...Probably just wanted to tell you his invite code. 😭

Were they being vocally intimidating or did the guy simply cross the street?
If I were crossing the street and some kid kept changing directions, I'd be looking at him like he were crazy too. 😉

After being initiated into a gang, usually they have to kill some one.Either from a rival gang, or just anyone will due mostly adult male.

Reasons like this is why I'm glad I'm allowed to Cary a gun :) but I've been lucky enough to only have to draw it once.

If I were you, I'd forget about it. There is no harm done. You're safe.
In future if you feel uncomfortable in your surroundings. Make a decision and stick with it. Most importantly, do not let paranoia play tricks on you. If you're generally quite a nervous person anyway, don't have your headphones in when in these situations. Use your senses, he may have been asking you directions or the time etc... He may not have noticed your earphones. 👍

Very true!! I'll keep that in mind for now on! Will definitely not be walking to and from work with headphones in anymore! If I were you, I'd forget about it. There is no harm done. You're safe.

Situational awareness is the key to avoiding many confrontations before they ever happen. If you have headphones in your ears and you're staring at your phone (or generally oblivious) you are telling the world that you are easy prey.

If I remember correctly there is an app to utilise the mic on a hands free stereo headset, which allows you to hear your surroundings without having to turn the music down too much!

Are you joking, or been watching TV too much?

Well, tonight was definitely an eye opening experience...one I hope to never relive! Definitely learned to be more attentive to my surrounds, and most importantly, learned how precious your life is, for it can be taken away in a matter seconds!

Suburbs? South Bronx, to Oakland, to where I live now. Ex-gang member. I never killed anyone. That's TV and media BS. Please don't feed into that. Unless you're deep in some (and only a few nationwide) prison gangs, that is not reality at all.

Yeah well i knew many gang affiliates that shot, stabbed ,beat and killed others. The news was happening in my back yard. The Northern VA,MD and D.C. I wish i was lying but you know not all gangs are alike. It's shame full that innocent people get hurt.✂✂✂✂✂✂

Of course some gang members kill people. That isn't what you said and isn't what I'm arguing. You said it's a gang requirement. Does it ever happen, especially with a certain Central American gang? Yeah, it does, but is it the rule or the norm? No. I'm just trying to educate you on the issue from an old insider's perspective, but believe what you see on TV, if that's what you want.
