Downgrade 4.1.2 to 3.1.3?

Can anyone give me a detailed step by step process on how I would go about downgrading my firmware. I was jb'in before, but I acedintley updated to 4.0.2. My first day using cydia I clicked " make my life easier " so I'm guessing my ssh files are on record? I'm still kinda new to it, so a step by step would be cool. Thank you.

I want to do the same thing. I have a 3G 8gig an os4 slows it down.

You need a jb 4.0.2 first. Then get files regarding 3.1.3 on your iPod. I know cos I tried to do same thing but there isn't a jb yet that doesn't brick yet from what I've read :/

I don't like the half ass multitasking. Anyone who's been jailbroken and used proswitcher will probably agree that apples attempt leaves alot to be desired 👎

It's an annoyance, although if it wasn't as buggy I'd probably like it alot.

Ahhh really? Lol that sucks. I know there's not a 4.0.2 jb yet, probably won't be till next month, I didn't know you had to be jb'in to downgrade though.

.2 fixed it, but I'm sure it'll update. Jailbreakme.com was the easiest I've ever jb, and it was for 4.0 (any device). Slide, wait, jailbroken.
Sorry not much immediate help though.

Ye you get the root files via cydia. Dunno why. Then you get the file from the Internet and restore. I forgot the first bit and then I HAD to upgrade to 4.0.2 so now I'm stuck :(

There is a 4.2 jailbreak for the 3G standard search dinozambas jailbreak on u tube 👌

Proswitcher is a load of crap. All it does for me (2 1/2 gen iPod 8gig) is crash. Just using pandora while playing turf wars kills it. Probably works better if I had more ram. I think apple ripped us off by not giving 2nd gen and 3G users multitasking. Atleast limited multitasking would have been nice. No backround pics ether (which really doesn't take much to add apple) and from what I hear, no bluetooth keyboard syncing. Plus it's been known to slow down older devices. I personally just hate apple for doing that. I'm sticking to my jailbroken 3.1.2 iPod til the 4th or 5th gen iPod touchs come out.

But I agree, apple is bs, I would of stayed jb'in if it wasn't for blackra1n being tethered and giving me trouble.

hmmm my girls iPod has no problems using it.

To downgrade, you need the 3.1.3 file, and go to iTunes, have ur iPod plugged in, the hold shift or alt then click restore, and choose the 3.1.3 file

And hshs files on your iPod for 3.1.3 which you can only get through cydia.

ull have to downgrade from 4.02 to 3.13, pretty easy process on youtube.
Then sync then Jailbreak it using jailbreakme..

You don't need to jailbreak. Just need to download 3.1.x software. Put ur device in dfu mode. (turn of device. Hold sleep and home for 10 sec, then release sleep). Then connect to iTunes. Right-click (or ctrl-click on Mac) on the update button under the device. Select the software. After it loads you need a program called recboot to take ur device out of dfu mode.

U need the shsh file for 3.1.3 stored on sauriks server, so u need to add an ip to reroute the restore to sauriks server
