Can anybody help I'm a new bassoonist and my long joint falls out of my boot joint can you please help

It sounds like you have a problem with wood shrinkage.

Choose a room in which to store your bassoon, then add a humidifier to that room to keep the bassoon properly humidified. This should help or even solve your wood shrinkage problem.

The one that's having the problem is plastic

Sounds like you are having a problem with hardening resulting in shrinkage of the long joint. You to find a plasticist who's specialty is contraction.

Tell him that you are experiencing fall out at your boot joint and ask him if he can recommend a high protein two-balled emollient to use a salve. That should do the trick.👍

My wife went to Oberlin as a bassoonist. She says wrap it with dental floss on the inside of the joint. Its caused by humidity changes like others have mentioned.
