  Can anybody help I'm a new bassoonist and my long joint falls out of my boot joint can you please help

  It sounds like you have a problem with wood shrinkage. Choose a room in which to store your bassoon, then add a humidifier to that room to keep the bassoon properly humidified. This should help or even solve your wood shrinkage problem.

  Sounds like you are having a problem with hardening resulting in shrinkage of the long joint. You to find a plasticist who's specialty is contraction. Tell him that you are experiencing fall out at your boot joint and ask him if he can recommend a high protein two-balled emollient to use a salve. That should do the trick.👍

  My wife went to Oberlin as a bassoonist. She says wrap it with dental floss on the inside of the joint. Its caused by humidity changes like others have mentioned.
