Minecraft 2 player split screen Xbox help!

So when I load up a world on minecraft Xbox which I just got, it doesn't offer for the 2nd player to press the start button an join ( I know this because I played it a friends house ). Do I need to set it in an offline game? Please help.

Why not ask your friend? You know the one you played it with?

Exactly, it needs to be on a TV that supports 720p and you need an HDMI cable aswell.

The other player needs to be a guest of yours or have a Gold account. A free account won't work.

Exactly, it needs to be on a TV that supports 720p and you need an HDMI cable aswell.
Then go to system settings and display then select 720p or higher
