As a Dad, who would do this?

  Wisdom is more important than IQ. As for lawyers and engineers not making money, it depends what type of law / engineering you practice in and at what level! I know its a cliche but most important thing about work is to enjoy what you are doing as the more you enjoy it the more likely you are to make money. Money does not buy happiness but it buys opportunities / experiences that may facilitate happiness.

  I kinda agree 'cause it would take some kind of altered mind state for most parents to say all of that to ALL of their kids. Bad day, alcohol, and boom. A bunch of things you regret come rolling out. (I guess)

  Personally, I can't imagine why any parent would say that to their child. No matter what. Be yourself. Find people to encourage and support you.
