... and needless to say, I didn't get the job. They contacted me by letter stating that, " while we were very impressed by your interview, we decided to go with a candidate with more experience." Apparently, a decade of machining experience doesn't mean shit anymore. People prefer to see papers stating someone knows how to do a job as opposed to someone with hands on experience.

I applied for a lower management position in my department. More bullshit for the same pay, but it looks good on the resume. Odds are I'll get it as I'm one of three eligible and have more experience than the other two. Not what I wanna do, but it's something.
