Mob is the most important, equally important is turfs for $$$ weapons is needed for your mob, I recommend low/non upkeep weapons and armour, and try to find a plot of un populated land, it's low income there but it's better then getting taxed by players, By the way, the first mission and a mission called "ransom" gives the best XP, at least when you get th to elite level.
