You can still own an AR here, just needs to be either welded magazine, or bullet button. I have 5 AR's. I'd recommend the bullet button, though you should hurry and get one now before they pass SB 249.

Lol correct me of I'm wrong, but they want magazines welded to the gun? That sounds too much like a sks for my liking

Come on over to Texas and bring your guns. We can go hog hunting. No license, no limit. Nuisance animals don't even have to keep the meat if you don't want to. I do anyway (way I was taught). No restrictions on type and caliber of weapon. You want full auto get your federal stamps and permission from local sheriff and it's a done deal. Take a class do a background check and get your CCH without permission from local government.

I would suggest the AR 10 in 308. Kick ass rifle super accurate right out of the box. And you can get a 50 caliber upper receiver for it that' pretty sweet.
