Rule #2: if he's right, see rule #1.
Seriously though, don't go to bed angry. If any issues arise during the day, address them before bed. If they're not resolved by then, let them go.

In any healthy relationship, you need to check your ego at the door. That means having patience, compromising, and communicating. Those three things, combined with integrity, will pretty much get you through any argument that comes up.

Perfect. I couldn't think of the word. All of these things are pillars to support a great marriage and solid family. If one pillar is damaged, the structure weakens but doesn't necessarily fail. However, if many pillars are damaged, the structure is in danger of collapse!

I am not married, but i was engaged to a lovely woman. I did a few things that compromised her trust in me and the relationship was never able to recover.....

Make sure you never give your partner an opportunity to lose trust in you....

It wasnt cheating or anything. It was some drug/alcohol related issues ie i told her i wouldnt do blow anymore and then i did and she found out.... Nothing that delibertely hurt her but needless to say she was pissed and from then on i felt like i was being watched by a warden. Not good..... Loved her, but she knew what my lifestyle was and expected me to change after 3 years. You cant go into a relationship expecting to change someone. That was the major failure.

You can't expect the other one to change but if you love him/her, you should be willing to change if you partake in something they don't like.
