You can press only one. Which would you press?

The red button for 100% Instant $1 million. or the green button for 50% chance of $100 Million.

both are untaxed.

For me, at the current moment in my life, I'd go with the red one. 1Million will help out a lot. 100million sounds nice.... but who really needs 100million?

Orrrrr. When you come from nothing and have a GUARANTEE to go forward without any cost to yourself... I'd take the sure thing.
Why take the chance of staying at nothing when you can FOR SURE improve?

Statistics normally advise that it's better to take more chances for a lower prize. If offered a certainty of a million it would change your life to a significant degree. If you take the risk for 100 mill, you can spend your life regretting the mill you don't have, or maybe be very rich (as you would still be if you had a million) If offered 2 flips of a coin to win £500 or one throw of a dice to get 6 and £6000 I'd take the former as better to have a good chance of a little than a smaller chance of a lot!

I should add that people think of professional gamblers as big risk takers who risk everything on the roll of a dice, whereas in reality outside of movies, they are looking for value ie a good safe return - better to take a small win than risk a big loss....
