But the article indicates the earliest built layers are 1500 years old. Not Pleistocene or homo erectus. Long after any glaciation. (was Bolivia glaciated?)Ojibwe wrote:
I know. I mean the structures are built directly on and in the layers. As if this place was built like INSTANTLY after the ice age. I'm not implying this structure was built hundreds of millions of years ago.No, the sediments were deposited in the Pleistocene. The structures were built upon those sediments some time later. By modern humans.
So based on those readings only, it's more like 440-600 AD. Not 1510. Sorry should have pointed that out.

I have heard about this a bit and it is quite interesting. Was this the site that in around 1900 British scientist aged it at about 27,000 years old but that guess is easily dismissed from bad aging methods of the time?

I can only imagine how amazing it would be to see it in it's true form. I walked the inca trail and visited machu pichu, it's mind blowing in it's current form so to see something like this during it's time would be absolutely amazing.
On another note maybe they transported the stones across lake titicaca? I'm sure you know of the floating islands that people live on, possibly they used to float the stones across?
