Have you heard of the new open source game consol the OUYA.All games are free to play and you can make your own games.Will it take of or flop???any one willing to buy it?

I don't think there will be serious effort for it. Would you put hours on end and thousands of dollars into creating a game just so that people can play for free with no payback to you? Business wise it just doesn't make sense. I say flop

True, it's powered by android. It's seems like android games are going to be on it. I really don't know I may be wrong

All games must have a free demo or some free game content. There will be paid games. The biggest thing is that it's based on Android OS which means the game developers will not have to pay redicilous sums of money to the console owners (Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo) to lisence the game.
This looks awesome. Everyone should check it out themselves. They have raised over $4.6 mill on kick starter already... So someone seems to like it.

There have been many attempts from other company's to try and create a console and they've just flopped once they hit the market. (I'll have a search later about a few and post back)

I believe it's all about brand awareness at first, making sure everyone knows what the console is called and the look.

It has to have a unique feature and a certain genre ;- Xbox - live gaming, majority of xbox owners take the game serious
Wii - family environment, won't cry if you lose just laugh about it.
PS - great for films and, in my opinion, the best for a racing game. Suitable for everyone.

I personally have no idea if this console will succeed. How will they encorporate the "create your own game" into this? Will it be a costly side feature? That one feature is very unique and could make or break them.

It is too early to tell, but from what I've seen about console gaming, the first person to do anything groundbreaking flops. It's usually the second refinement of a concept that succeeds.
