Ive got an iPod touch 4th gen running iOS 5.1.1 and I'm using the newest redsn0w. When I go to run RS, it opens fine, I click jail break, put my devise into DFU mode and a loading bar comes up, it filled inse, then moves on to the next item to load, one segment lights up, then I get an error message saying "exploit failed" what am I doing rong?

There should be a option not to go into dfu mode.

My boyfriend just jail broke his phone like 10 minutes ago. He used greenpoisi0n.com. And it took a matter of minutes. Now we're just restoring the apps and stuff.

Get the latest version.
Run it as administrator <<< remember to do this
then, click regular jailbreak
a message will popup
click NO, don't do the dfu method.
Then you will be good.
Redsnow, greenp0ision are all safe. No jailbreaking program will break your device.
unless it has a virus in it.

with redsnow, u need to download the correct custom .ispw (probably wrong extension) and the latest redsnow, I haven't done it for a while, but I had to do that, ur best bet is finding a redsnow tutorial as it does get a bit confusing especially upgrading and preserving baseband as well...good luck

also....jailbreakme.com will automatically determine ur iPod/iPhone firmware and jailbreak accordingly without u doing anything other than a simple "swipe to jailbreak"...try that first!

Same problem here. I've tried more than 5 programs that are supposed to jailbreak my iPod and none of them work. I gave my iPod to a friend and they had no trouble jailbreaking it. Could it be a problem with our computers?

Use absinthe, all u do is connect n once it finds ur device click jailbreak and wait that is it

I've been jailbreaking for years, no damage at all.
Also, with Redsnow you dont need a .isp anymore.
