👴What do you do when you see a hobo👴

I hate the use of the words "bum" or "hobo". Even "homeless" may or may not apply; how the hell do you know?
Once I gave $5 to a construction worker that needed to get home and didn't have subway fare. He was trying to call his friends, but nobody was answering. The guy hugged me.
I let one guy on the street late one night chat me up for quite a long time. He was obviously telling me lies. Several little stories, fake business card, fake adventures, books he read... He didn't want to actually ask for money, and I wasn't offering any and wasn't walking away, so he just kept talking. Finally, I told him to just tell me what he needed. Payday for that guy.
I help people. I don't care if they have a home, a job, a drug problem, or whatever. If I feel like I can spare some cash and someone needs help, it makes me feel good to do so.

Ths homeless servisman would look fit and healthy. Homelesness is the symptom, not the disease.Okay, I said this in your aforementioned thread before you redid it with the caviate that we play along with your homeless humour. So, here goes, don't delete it this time it's a lot of writing.
I give him change. I imagine he has had a hard time at it(I'll judge it from the looks, if he looks working health, no dice). At least 20% of homeless males are veterans and I like to repay them for their service somehow. I like to imagine that instead of alcholhal they buy food for them and their family.

When I was in fifth grade, our girl scout troop went to Chicago. My good friends' mother was approached by someone saying they needed money to feed their children. She gave them a package of crackers, and they got upset and said "I asked for money!"

I'm not an adult so I look away because it makes me feel bad to see people in that condition. Then I ask my parents if we can give him money( I'm 11)

It's true that lots of beggars don't actually buy food with the money you give them, but I like to remember the phrase "What you do with your money is between you and God, what he does with the money you give him is between him and God." The only time I see homeless people though is when I go into Detroit.

Street people I give money to and don't care what they spend it on. I just look at it as karma. People hanging out at gas stations with empty cans and a con story about their plight, I brush off as scammers. Same goes for peie that hold signs at the smar intersections for 8 weeks in a row. I use my judgment to try to help the ones that truly need it the most. And I don't work right now??👀

I hear you on the terminology. Wasn't sure what to say, tbh. I react very negatively to the word bum though...

I've had some bad situations happen because I thought I ws being a good person giving a bum/hobo money. It's very dangerous to do it take it from me. If you want to help them donate time/money to a food bank or homeless shelter. Never let them get you alone and never let them see your money. Stay in open well lighted public areas. Ladies never be alone always have someone with you. My aunt disappeared - her car was found later that day and her bodie the next morning. A store security camera filmed her abduction. It was 4 pm a known local bum approached her u could see her get her wallet out of her purse when he grabs her n drags her between to parked cars he forced her into her car n drive away. There were people all over in that parking lot some only 25feet away. Giving them money only perpetuates there problem force them to seek help from people who can give it to them

Me and a couple of friends went out to buy some food once, so we were sat outside next to this bus shelter where this guy was laid on the benches under it, asleep. We couldn't eat all of the food so there was like 4 slices if pizza and some chicken left and we gave it to him. He told us stories about what he'd gone through in life while we sat and listened like kids during story time. He was a pretty cool guy

I seen a bum his sign said need a dollar for a beer I gave him 2 dollars an a beer out of my cooler in the back seat

At a gas station the other day, a 30ish year old man approached me and asked if I could buy him condoms and a beer. I bought him the condoms and gave him a $5 McDonald's gift card.

And while we were in NY this March, we saw a guy with a green mohawk holding a sign that said "Need money for weed." We passed him two more times; the last time his sign was closed and he was talking to a cop 😂

There are Hobos and bums in Cleveland .the hobos stay away in alleys and the bums are ALWAYS out during events, I dislike those bums, they'll be fully clothed in decent clothes and be eating something and then they'll be asking for money. Ergh, like I have any money!

I was in Columbus, Ohio on business. My supervisor, a colleague, and myself were walking back to the Plaza when a guy walked up and asked for money for a taxi...Our supervisor politely told him that he had no money on him and we walked on...I felt sort of guilty....I had a pocketful of change from the restuarant we had just left. 😵

Was in the drive thru at the best BBQ joint town. Edge of the ghetto. Middle age black man, dirty old trench coat walks up to my window and asks "Y'all gots any change ya can spare so's I can get's me a bottle of wine". The guy was honest so what else could I do but grab a handful of change out of the change tray in my car and give it to him. Probably five to ten bucks. He did say thank you and bless you.

I would give him a dime . U secretly put a bit of c4 in it so 2 minutes later I blow his ass up

😒 I've been homeless quite a bit in my life. Great jokes..... 👎 a lot of the homeless in my town are more legit than you'd think. I'd say 8 out of 10 of us never spent a dime that wasn't used on something useful. Not all homeless are drug using alcoholics. Keep it in mind.

My family & I were having lunch & a homeless guy came in & was seated a few booths away from us...he had a stack of 1's no doubt from some panhandling...we noticed him sitting with the waitress counting out the stack to see how much he could afford to eat...my wife is pregnant so way to emotional but she was on the verge of tears...I would think that in these situations the restaurant might at least give'em a kids meal or something! But I gave him a $20...Who cares what he did wit it, can't put a $$ amount on the feeling u get from helping someone in need! That approach has gotten me taken advantage of b4 as well...SͭeͪcͤʊʀɪϮγ₲ʊყ wrote:

Anyone read about the homeless guy who got shanked in New York City cause he was panhandling on a corner another vagabond claimed was his? Apparently the murdering hobo was clearing $600/day on that street in manhattan. Almost as if the second bum had claimed turf there, with looted upgrades on it. I wonder what is mob was? And if he had any Brens?
