Any Lucid Dreamers on TW?
Forums › General Discussion › Any Lucid Dreamers on TW?-
I have become interested lately in lucid dreaming (knowing you are dreaming) and have gone online and got some techniques to help me achieve it as well as reading about other peoples experiences on r/LucidDreaming. (go reddit!) Please share your experiences or anything you have done to control your dream.

There have been a good few threads on this.
You just need to dig a bit. -
I used to have to have them all the time when I was younger. My favorite part about them was being able to fly on my dreams. And I could also wake up anytime I wanted to because I knew I was dreaming.

iDoser?

When I was little I did it involuntarily through realising when I was having a bad dream. I have been trying to do it recently too but no joy yet 😒, I nearly did it once but I got so exited I woke up lol

None of that "eat cheese or spicy food before bed" crap works. There's 3 methods I've used that work pretty well: 1) Draw an "A" on the palm of your hand. This stands for "awake". Do this every day until it buries itself into your memory when you're asleep. Then when you're dreaming you may see it on your hand and start to control the dream via memory of the real world.
-
2) keep a "dream diary". Sounds pretty lame I know, but in 5 minutes of being awake you forget about 40% if what you just dreamt, then 10 mins 80% is forgotten, leaving you with only the remaining 20% if the dream in your memory. Noting down whatever you remember about your dream straight away when you wake up is a good way of learning your dreams behaviour and what makes you wake up more than other things and anything else you may discover in your mind's activity while you sleep.
-
Aye, I was, but it eventually stopped around when I turned 12
-
3) learn to control your mind, similar to the matrix, tell your imagination to bend to your will. Learn how to do this and grasp what power you can from your unconscious state and you will discover you can easily be capable of twisting it into whatever shape you want. But a word of warning; when you are in the process of lucid dreaming, your body becomes literally paralised, unable to move, which can cause muscle spasms and can force you to lay in a rather uncomfortable position for the whole night, resulting in screaming agony the following morning. In other words, just don't do it every night and you're fine.
Sources: lots of research and lots of time devoted to causing utter mayhem in my subconsciousness 😜 -
I do it all the time to be able to do it you have to be conscious while unconcious it take extroadinary focus and awareness I however have been able to ever since I was a child

I never remember a dream, I think after having nightmares as a kid my brain blocks out all memory of my dreams. That's the only reason I could come up with, I actually remember my very last dream very vividly and it was terrifying.
-
I've never actually known when I'm dreaming before. And I've had some nutty dreams.
-
I have done that before, like others I tried to fly ... I however get up in the air for brief period of time then come crashing back down. :( oh well dreams are freaking sweet.

Just go to that recall place and they can hook you up to your most desired fantasy. It will cost you tho.

I once had an odd dream. A giant ball of ham rolling up a waterfall.
-
I once dreamed about chickens crossing a road. Then some dinosaurs came and ate the chickens.
I was mad because I wanted chicken for dinner, so I threw rocks at the dinosaurs. They got scared and ran away, but I was still hungry, so I bought a burger at McDonalds. -
I've stopped myself from having nightmares for a few years

This is to put your mind into a nice little state to which lucid dreaming "may" have a better chance of happening. It doesn't work for everyone but plug in your I device and headphones and get the party started!

Ok thair is one way it works but it is dangerous you lay still for like 30 min don't scratch or move that is your brain trying to see if you are asleep or not after 30 min of not move in your body will freeze it self in position you can not mOve it will be scary becouse you are dreaming while you are awake like inseption but parilized you can hear and feel but not see or move this should last about 15 min then you will wake up or finly go into your lucide dream fully aware
-
If you won't to tell if you are dreaming look in a windo you won't have a reflection also a better way is turning on a light in a dream when you flip a light switch it will not do anneything most of the time to stay in the dream longer try staring at a fan or spinning in a circle

I have lucid dreams that are sometimes in connection with sleep paralysis... Terrifying to know you are dreaming, "wake up" and not be able to move....
-
No, but I want to!!! I have the frickin craziest dreams, like dreams that make Charlie Sheen look totally sane, and I really wish I could control what's going on in there and be able to remember more... 😢
-
I used to be very interested in this as well. My advice is keep at it, because if you stop, it becomes much harder to remember your dreams. I dream almost every night (I think), but only remember a small fragment of a single dream or two, once a week. Sometimes it isn't even a picture I remember, just a sensation, or a feeling. It's very odd.

Wow, last night I had a dream that I was outside my physics class waiting for the teacher to open the door. I looked around and thought it all looked wierd; school in July, hardly anyone from my physics class was there, and there was big snowfall in JULY. That's when I realized in the dream that I was dreaming, so I began to fly up all excitedly, after 30 feet, I woke up

A psychology teacher once had a dream where he was falling off a cliff but in mid air he flew back up. Lives in my area.
