Road Trip with TW?
Forums › General Discussion › Road Trip with TW?-
Has anyone ever gone on a road trip to plant turf across the states? It is summer after all.

Before airports, either trips or hopping was the only way to get anywhere. I'm sure there were quite a few here that traveled just to plant turf.
-
Is TW better now overall with airports?
-
I'm planning a hop trip very soon, still don't know where to hop ??

I'm hopping almost daily now in hunt for loot.. 120+ miles was todays run and now surrounded by loot :D

I do a road trip from Chicago to Northwest Arkansas. I plant turf in wide open areas and hop to places when I'm bored
-
Just finished a 4500km round trip dropping turf wherever I went. Only advice is limit your checks as mapping only allows a limited number of looks. Enjoy

Hopping reaps more loot? O.O

I did route 66 from Texas to Northern CA, down the west coast, then back to Texas along the border. Planned for months, then a few months later airports were announced.
Sigh... 😒

You had better plant a turf every 50 miles or 'the your not fully established rule' will come into play. With the geocorder issue it can be a problem.

I've never gone on a trip JUST to plant turf, but I have planted turf while on a trip...

Oh, I also drop wherever I can while on road trips. On an iPod though, so wifi only. Heading down to Florida later this year, hoping to get in some good turf all the way.

Same here. As much as it is cool to be able to put turf all over the globe it does take the strategy out of it. I wasnt around when airports weren't around but I can imagine it took time and skill to stay in an area. If u were capped out that was it. U either had to travel or hop back. Sounds fun 😁"The Man" wrote:

I'm gonna have a great time this summer, I'll be in Myrtle beach, then orlando, Chicago, and maybe NYC, starting this Friday. Pm me if you will be there, maybe we can meet up!

We drive from CO to AZ (and back) a few times a year... Of course I plant turf. In fact next time we are taking an alternate route so we can plant turf in a different area. We are also driving to San Diego this summer, not many places to plant along the way, but I will definately plant when we get there!
