Ogres
An ogre is defined by Marrium-Beanster dictionary as:
1. A mythical being which serves its purpose as general sword fodder. Nobody was ever killed by an ogre. Generally, ogres are as mean as they are ugly, and being as they look like their moms repeatedly punched them in the face as a small child, they are typically really mean. Exceptions to this exist, but typically these ogres reside in a land where all endings are happy and singing is rampant even in the darkest of times.
2. A man or women at a bar who target only the drunkest of drunks. They only target this form of prey due to the inverse beer-sight effect. Namely, the drunker the prey the more attractive the prey is to the ogre. Ogres are generally considered the most vicious of the bar crawlers, and even can be more territorial than the infamous night-stalker. An ogre will typically be sweating profusely even when sitting down. -
It is theorized that their sweat contains a pheromone that enhances the inverse beer-sight effect, but this has not been proven as of yet.
3. In the Internet-world, the ogre is considered a primordial troll. An ogre will generally post stupid things not on purpose but out of sheer ignorance. If mocked or angered enough, an ogre will undergo a full transformation into a troll. An ogre is much more susceptible to corrective behavior than its troll form, but it reacts aggressively if mocked.
Hello, my name is Bartholemeu Bean de la Bad, and I would like to inform the TW world about the 3rd and most abundant form of ogre, the Internet ogre.
The reason I would like to talk about them is that if we can correctly nurture the ogre, we can avoid the future troll. My first lesson is spotting and identifying a troll rather than an ogre. -
An ogre typically is new to TW and the forums, this may be their 1st or 2nd time to post a thread or reply. General ogre type posts are as follows:
Xbox v. PS
Where is the attack button?
Best player in the Game?
Your favorite Music?
Add (insert code here)
I challenge everyone here!
Why is there a rash on my private areas?
Etc.
Now, as you may have noticed these seem like trolling behavior and it definitely can be considered so, but the ogre will act in earnest at first. It will be offended at comments like "troll" "delete" "seen it before." It will typically plead with the posters to still take it seriously. And there is the difference. If you see that type of behavior, there is a set of rules you must follow if you do not want a troll to form. -
Yes! Been forever since i've seen a thread from you Bad Bean 👍👍👍👍👍👍 You just made my day, thanks 👍👍 I'll be lurking 👀
-
A. Do not attack or mock the ogre; they anger easily and anger develops the troll.
B. Do not troll the ogre. This shows it how to behave, and we do not need that.
C. Do explain calmly to him what is wrong with the post. Try to be concise and to the point; ogres bore easily.
D. Do take him under your wing if necessary. Typically, ogres had no guidance in their TW or Real lives. We can correct this!
If you follow these steps we may be able to defuse the ticking time bombs that ogres are. It usually takes 1-2 weeks to turn an ogre into a contributing member of the good side of TW, whereas a troll can form in 2-3 minutes.
And remember, if a troll forms, none of these techniques will work 92% of the time. Kill the troll! Kill it with fire!
This has been bartholemeu bean de la bad, and I would ask you kindly to help eliminate to troll problem by helping the ogres, thank you and good night. -
So you're saying you know why there's a rash on my private areas?
-
If you behead the ogre before it becomes a troll, then you don't have to worry about the trolls worst power... Regeneration!
-
Badass bad bean at it again
