I have a 125 gallon I would love to set up as a saltwater. Just don't have time so I dink around with easy freshwater fish for now. Maybe down the road when I can find time.

How much that tank cost you? I found a 55g with heater, filter, and stand and the guy wants to trade for my iPod touch. (32 gb 4th generatio) I have an iPhone so it doesn't get used. Good deal?I have a 125 gallon I would love to set up as a saltwater. Just don't have time so I dink around with easy freshwater fish for now. Maybe down the road when I can find time.

I've kept salt water tanks for the last 6 years or so. They are so much more fun then freshwater. But be prepared to spend alot of money, they aren't cheap, and if you do go the cheap route with equipment you will prolly pay more in the long run replacing it.
One of the best things you can do is find a local club. Luckily I live close enough to Washington DC to be a member of one of the best reef clubs in the country. There are several large clubs all across the US though. Joining a club you can learn alot by talking to people and also seeing their set ups. You would be amazed at how many people you will meet that will share their knowledge and even show their set ups to you. It's also a great place to buy a complete set up cheaper then buying brand new. There are always people getting out of the hobby, or people upgrading to bigger tanks.
The number one piece of advice I can give you is to READ READ READ. Saltwater tanks take alot of work, but once you get the hang of it it's pretty easy.

I could see it being a good deal. But idk how much a iPod like that costs haha. I got mine for 700 dollars. 20 gallons of polished rock. Like 60 gallons of aquarium gravel. A stand, bio wheel set up. And a 20 gallon acrylic tank. And a 10 glass too... Oh and ten big filters. Um 10 gallons of petrified wood plus some big chunks. 10 gallon pail of blue skyscraper glass. He rented to nursing homes and was getting out of that biz🎩 MaddHatter 🎩 wrote:

I had a tropical freshwater tank when I was younger, that was hard work in my eyes so a saltwater one would be too much for me.i did a job at a customers house and they had a 7ft salty tank......amazing,I was blown away,I could have literally watched the fish all day....good luck,it would definately be worth the effort if it all works out👍
