I might be able to get around the GPS system
Forums › General Discussion › I might be able to get around the GPS system-
As many of you know, I do not have any turf because of the screwy GPS. BUT, I've noticed that in a way, the game still tells you where you are located.

When you select an airport, the game will tell you how far away you are from that specific airport. According to this, Charles De Gaulle airport in Paris, France, is 3,393 miles North of me. Which would mean the games thinks I'm somewhere in West Africa. I might be able to plant turf, if I can figure out where 3,393 miles south of Paris is. -
Again, this is all based on 'what if'. Even if I can figure out my location based on this airport, I still may not be able to plant turf.

Zoom out on the map and see where the blue marker is?

Be careful, if you are not really in south Africa physically you may get El Hammer de BANO. Not the "bathroom hammer" but the ban hammer" to taking Advantage of a GPS game error. Their devices "thought" they were somewhere else than they actually were. I believe it was termed "spoofing" -

Interesting...... Just warning you this for your own good, that may count as spoofing, not completely sure, but do take that into account.

Using a map, I've roughly estimated where 3,393 miles south of Paris is. And that place would be Lagos, Nigeria. Going to try and plant turf there now.
-
DANGIT, it didn't work.

To be accourate you not only need a distance and a direction like north east south or west but you'll need ° or even mills. Since you have 360° north should be between 315° and 45° east between 45° and 135° etc. Etc. It would be more pecific if the told you a distance and for example south south east than instead of a angle of 90° your angle is cut to 1/3. In this moment 3,393miles south at a difference of 90° could mean 1000 miles more east or more west. Lol anyways nice try!

Thats what i say.. North could be between 315° and 45° on a distance of 3,393 miles you have a lot of spots where you could be located ;-)Add: MART wrote:

So it could be any city that's excactly 3,393 miles away from Paris?

Crossing off Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

Crossing off Baghdad, Iraq, Kharkiv, Ukraine, and Tblisi, Georgia

Did you message feedback? Is it a phone issue or an ingame issue?

I Ges just report the glitch and keep looking I feel bad for you

I dont know how mutch meter 1° is on 1000 miles but if it is for example 1mile than on 3,393 miles x 90° you have a radius of almost 305 miles where you are located. To be more accurate you could make a cross to another airport for example one in china lol but its sunday night and i counted allready to mutch! I bet there is a wiskid here that could help you do that!

Crossing off Moscow and St. Petersburg

Someone said zoom out and find the blue pin. Did you try it? If not, TRY IT!!! I feel like it will work...

Thats smart. TW crossing off Eric. next.....

Eric, use the location from two airports and draw circles of the respective distance around each one. The intersection is where you are. Easy as pie. Of course. It's probably not gonna work anyway.

We are talking about an area the size of your create radius that you get from your actual location, not cities. It's probably less than two miles in diameter. Best case scenario, you find it after searching for days and get banned for spoofing. More than likely you are getting some default location due to the error. I highly doubt you can place a turf without seeing that blue pin.
-
Without a blue marker of where your located, you cant add turf. I'm sure if you zoom all the way out as far as possible you will see the blue marker where your located
-
Is this only when you are playing turfwars app?
Have you tired other apps that use location services like google maps?
Maybe try looking in settings > location service to see if it's enabled for turfwars.
Is your device jail broken? -
Go into google maps and get your location on that then open turf wars and let it find your location works for me all the time
-
When you are on the map tab, if you click on the words "Turf Map" in the top center of your screen, it should make turf war move to the position it thinks you are.
But as you said, your GPS is screwed up, so it may not work. Maybe worth a try anyway?
-
I know sommebody that lives here in scotlabd but both his seperate devices say that he is in thailand
