Shiv grabbed his shotgun up, and let loose a hail of combat shells. Marines lay dead everywhere, the few remaining were sheltered behind the corpses of cattle, firing blindly.

Suddenly, Mike's 50Cal went silent, and Rick looked up. Blood began to pour through holes in the tin roof. Kit lay in a pile by the door, unrecognisably torn up.

Rick looked at Shiv. They nodded at each other, and swung out the door together, shooting as one. Rick's Browning firing constantly, and Shiv's dual Smith and Wesson's cracking wickedly. As the last marine fell, his last bullet took Shiv between the eyes.

Rick climbed off the plane. He'd hijacked it near Saint Petersburg, and flown straight, with a couple of fuel stops at secret depots he knew of.
