going into grade 9 😨
Forums › General Discussion › going into grade 9 😨-
This is the simplest question ever. All you have to do is just be yourself " maybe except getting a girl or boy" there's no problem with attracting attention to yourself just be wary of the type of attention YOU WANT or want to GIVE. Do good in school and surely ever one will love ya in school. Just don't be taken advantage of. Am going to 9th grade as well so it's gonna be AWESOME!. but don't do drugs kids. It's a waste of time and money plus it also Ruins lives.

That was the advice I gave myself a few years back. That and be nice to almost everyone... Because you never know if they'll ever be famous😜The advice I was given upon reaching 9th grade was "the first guy that messes with you even a little, grab his collar and press him into the wall by his throat. His friends might beat you up, but you gain respect"
Following that advice, I ended up being avoided in the hallways, feared by the students, and searched 3 times for bombs.
So, don't follow that kind of advice. Find a group that shares like interests, and be true to yourself. Nothing ruins a

Enjoy yourself. High school is a lot of fun. Find good friends with common interests. Participate in activities you enjoy. Be yourself, don't worry about what everyone thinks of you. Do your best on your school work but don't fret over getting straight A's. I've been out of highschool for 23 years, no employer has ever asked me what my GPA was.

I'm going to be a senior next year. Me and my friends are going to corner a freshman and scare the crap outa him and then say "hey man you look pretty handsome today, can we help you find anything?"

Moral of the story is, be all you can be, and don't be afraid of being judged. If people make fun of you for having good grades, just see who's working for who in 20 years.Get strait a-'s. higher and your geeky, lower and you have no future.

As a soporific just coming out of my freshman year, here's my advice:
-Be nice to everyone. Don't be a jerk unless you have a dang good reason to. That one weird chick may be your first connection to that really hot chick down the hall 😏😏😏 (that actually happened to me, btw)
-Also going with #1, people just like nice people in general. So be nice.
-Do your best in your classes; you may think it "cool" or something to bomb your finals, but it will come back and bite you in your butt.
-Seriously, don't do drugs. The only people who like those kinda people are other druggies.
-Freshman sports teams are really easy to get onto, so go for it. You may not be good enough next year for JV, but you will still be able to say you made a highschool team.
-One of the biggest things you can do to stand out is not being scares crappless on the first day like all the other freshies. -
Freshman Friday is real ;) I enjoyed it as a kid...well after freshmen year

Make sure you have a plan for your future 9th grade is where it all starts. From this point on doors close for you. Volunteer for things like the human society this will make a diffrence on your military or collage app. Try not to burn yourself out and stay focused on your goal. Hope all goes well.

The problem with getting very good grades is that most people that do are smart at the expense of social skills.
I think good grades in themselves don't get you "shunned". You are a social outcast or you aren't. GPA doesn't matter.
I was rejected socially in high school and I didn't do shit. I flunked most of it and bounced out in the beginning of grade 11. (I did get cool points for sleeping in the front row of class and getting away with it, but you know...)
Then I went to college, kicked ass and graduated #1. No shunning at all.
Go figure. It's not grades, it's attitude.

Mate, 20 years after leaving school my happiest were the days I stopped trying to be something I wasn't. I went from bottom of one group being bullied into a more equal and social group. I made prefect I was invited out to friends places.
So remember you are still a kid, have fun do things you enjoy. Concentrate on areas of study that you have an interest in or want to make a career from. I should never have followed the pack and done sciences, I should have done economics and commerce. Took me 10 years of job hunting to find what I enjoyed doing.
Best of luck and have fun.

It's been almost two decades since I was a hs freshman. Couple of things - what matters most now won't matter at all in a few years. The coolest kids in your high school will likely end up with shitty lives. Teenagers are cruel because they don't know better, so don't ever internalize things that are said and develop a thick skin. Be nice to everyone, even the kids who were shitty to you. Pay attention to your teachers.
Most important - high school will be fun, boring, exciting, and cruel, so enjoy the ups and bear with the downs, but remember that overall its a very tiny portion of your life! There's a crapton more to come AFTER high school so don't take it too seriously. My 2ć.

Knowledge is power. Get as smart as you can. Develop good habits, play sports or join a club. stay busy!

Good advice from someone who just went through it. Definitely go out for a sports team, even if it's track or cross country. 👍As a soporific just coming out of my freshman year, here's my advice:

I just finished my freshmen year. Number one tip: Make no enemies. You should try to have as little conflict as possible. If nobody dislikes you, nobody will annoy you.
-
I just finished my sophomore year and the best advice I can give u is to just find something your good at. I was on the wrestling team cause I've been doing it my entire life and am getting into mma as well. Even if it's some random club and don't be afraid to talk to people other than your friends!
DEFINETLY get good grades! Almost all of the most popular people in my school are insanely smart! And like it was posted before, don't make many enemies(A couple of them are ok to keep school interesting.)😜 -

1. Try to avoid smoking in general, it breaks your ability to focus, it really does, I have person experience, I never did drugs but I smoked a lot of cigs, big mistake.
2. If you're going to have sex, make sure you're prepare for the attachment (physical, emotional, and mental) that the other partner will have, use a condom or male birth control pills, they are more effective than the female ones.
3. Don't seclude yourself in on group, be active in many others, it will help you in the long run, it really will.
4. Make the best grades you can, the higher the grades the better the college.
5. If you're not a sports person, that's fine, most people will understand that, if you're a techy or an actor, than props, I was too, have been all my life.

6. Try an be friendly, the more friendly you are, the more friends you will have.
7. Dont do stupid things like picking fights, I will agree with self defense, but I am a passafist, I will refrain from any fight given the chance.
8. Have fun, not too much fun that will end you up in prison or wakin up next to 3 people you don't know or how you got there.
9. If you go to parties, I advise to go to some, don't go over bored, limit yourself.
10. Follow the Bro Code, this is the most important thing ever, make sure you do!
