Any tricks or secrets when using PayPal? I use it frequently and wonder why they charge monthly instead of when I get paid for something :/ . Anyway anybody have any tips secrets or Horror 😱 stories to confess?

I've had a PayPal account for years. They don't charge just to have it. You must have signed up for some sort of program that charges you. Review your account.

Yes. I auction stuff. But I'm guessing they charge the fee later :/ plus I receive payments on there and I use the "here" to swipe credit cards on my iPhone.

I've used PayPal for over ten years and I've never had any problems. They have a monthly billing program for people that accept payments via PayPal or for people who use the credit card feature. The monthly billing cycle allows them to keep better track of billing statements although eBay sales tell you what your PayPal fee is up front....
