Here is a guideline to the next wave of players coming in this summer on who is who
1) Generation - Old timers
Players that started Oct 1st 2009 to April 2010
These players have seen it and done it. Chances are these players are just sitting on the porch just yelling and capping other old timers. They have no interest in your turf, if they do take it, it's most likely because they want to get closer to cap someone or you said something dumb in the forum. This is a very grumpy group but catch them on the right day they can help you tremendously in all aspects of the game.
How can you tell who these players are?Players that are 50k mob ( but not always, some stopped punching) Most are level 120+ ,may have capo titles that are 1-2years old, loads of fights, and walls older then time.
2) Generation - The Turf Boomers May 2010-Dec20103) Generation - The Jet Setters Jan 2011- Oct 2011
4) Generation - The Great Migration (no longer noob) Nov2011-May2012
5) Generation - ?? Starting June 1 2012-
-
ahhhh copy and paste did not work well Anyways, feel free to write up something about your generation to help out the new players
-
And why the hell are some of the dates blue?
-
I was the great migration but I reset. Would a be a "pilgrim" generation or great migration

Some of the dates are probably blue because the forum server looks at them as invite codes I think.
-
Yay! Go noob migrators!
-
Ohhh yeah looks like I forgot to put a space between the dates. Ahhhh suck, oh well coffee time anyways.

Because of the scarcity of players in the first few years, most of us old timers had to punch our ways through 3 or 4 complete sites...racking up way over 200,000 codes punched to get near 50k...I started April 2010 and didn't punch for several months...because of the late start, I calculated once I had punched 150,000 codes just to get to 20k mob. At 500-1000 codes an hour (depending on number of beers) that is, well, something I'd rather not think about :)

👆👆👆see that's why we are grumpy 😜
-
So I get to be grumpy too? YAY

Not as grumpy as you get the day you learn that codes you punch that don't get accepted in a specific amount of time expire and you have to retype them again. Haven't quite calculated the amount of time...took me a year to realize this based on my 2, 3, 4, and 5 character code lists I used to maintain. At first I just thought it was people resetting and reusing existing codes :(
-
I'm no longer a noob 👍... Only thing I can advise gen #5 is to punch codes early and often and read the forums.... I did not do that at first 😞

I could have sworn that I posted on a thread identical to this just over half an hour ago. Then it up and disappeared like a fart in the wind!! I think my old brain is fading on me!!
But seriously new guys, take a deep breath and count to 10 before posting deliberately inflammatory comments. These days there are some BIG mobsters on here that can snuff out your game in a matter of days, or even hours if they take umbrage at something you say. Airports have put most countries in play and you may get stalked like a deer before the shot. Well done, Johnny O 👍.

Johnny O's dates make me a Jet Setter. I started in May 2011. Been playing for 13 months now, which feels like a pretty long time. LOL.

I'm in the fifth one. I think there should be two where the fifth one is, though. Number five spans a whole year, while the others span 5-6 months.
??????????? Did I read this correctly? Am I nuts?? Someone please help...

Sucks I don't know what my real generation is. I think I'm 3rd, but I can't tell :/ used to clean my wall completely, and all my origonal turf were lost in a war. :D can I just be the Amnesia generation? Don't know when I started but I know I'm here now.
-
Johnny O, I came on November 1. Can I be a Jet Setter?😁😜
-
Turf boomer...it's been a good ride!

Nov 2011. Right on cusp. I'm grouchy in RL and that spills over here.
Players from my era are mostly bitter they can never catch up and that they missed out on the golden days, embarrassed to be associated with so many newbs who joined at the same time and are now often cannon fodder / tie breakers in the 50kers' wars.
Some have made the transition by punching and quality map play and sanely posting and are accepted jr players now. Others spiked at 1-5k and quit and now make up the largest number of inactives. Others fill the forum with constant drivel and mainly avoid the map - if they can't be the biggest...they'll be the loudest.

I'm generation three, later part of it when Mickey Dunn had 27k mob and Swagger at 620k-650k, and he was rhe highest influence. I have seen some of the forums and a bit of stuff happen. In here the forums were probably relatively decent, but I don't judge the forums like others do, I see a thread as just a thread topic really. Seen some
players go and made myself a spot in the forums. From gen 3 we are at this point pretty common. We are experienced enough, and maybe then some, and help the game a bit. We know the basics, have made some allies, made a spot on the game (if we were active anyways), had some fun with the game and likely to stay for awhile longer.

I'm the noobiest noobish noob mayor of noob town,of the continent of noob, on the planet noob and I'm proud :)

Turf boomers helped build the game alot and IMO take it from a concept to an actual game. They helped strech the map from just playing in your local city to across all areas. Helped build and secure alliances and were on the front lines when Vs came out. A 👏 to all the the Turf boomers out there.Turf boomer...it's been a good ride!

Gen 4. As Otto said a large portion of this generation have quit due to frustration or lack or motivation. Many have stayed and grown. As a member of this generation some of the best advice to give- lighten up. This game is full of people that can become good friends. Don't curse at people. Diplomacy goes a long way. Don't get too attached to those circles. They come and go. And for the love of god don't whine about a few attacks. That seems to be one of the most common themes nowadays. "so and so attacked me 6 times for xp so I wanna make a vandoozle now"
Remember- it's a war game. Attacks are a part of war.
And one thing people seem to forget- try to have some fun.
