Terrible Tony Jul 30, 2010

So is capturing a turf from someone else frowned upon in the game? I have finally gotten strong enough (in my area of the world anyway) to attack and win turfs from other people, and now they are all over me about being a bad person and a bully. Isn't capturing other peoples turfs part of the game?! Should I feel guilty??

I look forward to peoples thoughts on this.

The game is more about controlling an area than just battling other people, there's lots of ways to gain control, capping is just one.

I'll fill in some of the gaps to Tony's actual game scenario... He over his turf limit, he wants to compete with the big boys and he has a mob to feed. All the while not willing to buy DP.

honestly, thats exactly what this game is about. unfortunantly, orrrr, fortunantly, however you wanna look at it, people have developed ethics for in game play. And taking so many turfs that a player quits, is frowmed upon greatly, unless the person is deemed a huge bully by the masses. even then some ppl might get mad. my tip: just play the game however it is fun to you.

Texas is absolutely correct. It's a game. Play how you want and have fun with it. Just understand that other players are also playing how they want. Complete aggression is a fine short-term plan. At some point, there needs to be some strategy in the mix for long-term success. It also helps keep things interesting. This game is like a big soap opera if you read the posts, talk to people, and draw it out into a storyboard. Despite our personal directions in game-play, that is enough to keep you entertained endlessly. For the most part, you choose your own adventure. You reach a page in your book where someone give you some choices. You decide and then it's off to the next adventure.
