You have to head to The Highline, its a railine above the streets. It has been turned into a beautiful park overlooking the hudson river and lower manhattan. It runs up about 20 blocks and they are still adding more. There is a great spot to view more of the famous architecture buildings. That park starts in the meatpacking district. Go up a little from there to 6th ave, is MacDougal St. Very hip area, behind NYU. Theres the comdey spot, usually a couple famous comedians hang there outside at night.

My tattoo shop I sold was on MacDougal and Bleecker,.. Pandemonium ink
No way i remember seeing like at least there.
