For all those speeders whose "rights" are being infringed on by that overbearing traffic Officer; let me clear up some confusion. It is not your right to have a license and drive a car. It is a prevlige given to your by the state to drive on the states roads. As for the argument of driving being life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness you can pursue those things on your own two feet. No one is stopping you.

My dad used to be a cop and I think the job is good, he had plenty to dI, but enough time to hangout at home

But that is part of the problem. I don't mind laws that are around to keep order among us. But I don't like laws that control your actions. As long as your not endangering anyone and in control of your vehicle u should be allowed to go however the fuck fast u want! I also don't like the government making u wear a seatbelt with the click it or ticket thing. It should be your choice not requirement!Surf n' Turf wrote:
Wow...... Don't speed than. Oh my god is that all it takes to not get a speeding ticket?!I respect cops who patrol cities, ghettos or dangerous areas. Places where they are putting there life on the line every single night. Not so much with traffic cops who get off busting you for speeding and what not!

Im fine with speed limits and all, I just don't like it when cops pull me over for my orange underglow

"DREAD🔓LOCK" is a cop, 👮 = 🔓

@surf n turf
I'll give you that the seat belt law is controlling and if idiots dont wanna buckle up that is their choice. But speeding puts more than just you at risk. You can loose control easier and crash into another vehicle and/or a building or such.
Btw do you have a license? -

Indeed, it is not just about his safety, but the safety of others too, at that high speed he could easily hit someone on a bike or car. Not too smart for him to say that.@surf n turf

Yes I do I'm 19...and have never gotten a speeding ticket but speed. I never go faster than what I can control. As long as I am in complete control of my car I feel it should be fine. I'm not talking about going 100 plus...just 80-85 on the parkway for example. Speeds where it doesn't endanger anyone but can still get u a ticket from a over zealous cop!@surf n turf

Well think of it this way, if you go 100 on a 80mph highway and they are fine with that, what would reason would the police officers pull over a car going 60 in a residential area? They both are dangerous to everyone around them because they can't stop in time. However the seat belt law may be a bit controling, however it is there for your safety that way if you do get in an accident that you don't fall out of your vehicle and get crushed.

I wouldn't call it a right but sure there are a lot of things you can do on your property that you can't do on a public roadway.

I hang out both sides of the border. From my experience the gardai are fair and easygoing, everyone respects them but the PSNI are a bunch of sectarian tossers misusing their authority.

Ahh to be 19 again. Dude, you do realize its not the cop that sets the speed limit or requires you to wear a seat belt. It's society. The police officer is enforcing the laws that society created. Don't be mad at cops for laws.

I have a ton of respect for police officers. I absolutely hate when people cry about them being too strict or "police brutality" or any other B.S. Get off your high horse and go put your life on the line every day to protect people you don't even know. Yeah some cops may be dicks but guess what, if you didn't break the law in the first place you wouldn't be dealing with them!
