Hahaha! I work AT&T customer service people like a worn out hooker! I verbally pound them into submission and MAKE them do what I want! As long as you don't cuss, threaten, or raise your voice it's company policy they HAVE to stay on the line until the problem is resolved. Usually they get tired of hearing me talk and give me what I want. Now I play a game to see how many times I can make them apologise. So far my record is 19times in one call....hahahaha! I use my cable providers Internet service hooked up to the Xbox and get little to no lag during gaming....o-/-<]: wrote:

Cox communications, in OKC, has amazing speeds. I consistently get 28-30 Mbps down and 8-10 Mbps up.
Real world downloads of large files like podcasts or game updates, etc. download about 3 Megs/sec.

Dslextreme.com!!!!!!

Man, now I feel old. I remember being able to take a 110 baud silent 700 portable terminal home (30 lbs and size of large suitcase) to be able to work longer hours from home...and thinking that was fast :) ... Porn back then would have been printing a large text graphics picture of cheryl tiegs on a line printer and then taping all the pages together and standing WAY back to see the picture...although usually a large image of the moon was what you printed out like that to show off in your geeky office.

Ah yes, the long phone cord. I watched Napolean Dynamite with my son a few years ago, he couldn't understand why I fell out of my chair laughing about the phone cord.I remember when phones had a four prong plug and were owned by the phone company. Oh yeah, no wireless and no answering machines either! Cave man days! The long phone cord was your friend.
I swear we had the same cord. No answering machine, no call waiting, no caller ID, and only one phone on the house. Not only that I think the phone actually belonged to the phone company and mom and dad paid for it as part of the bill.

Heck, yeah. They were rotary too. I remember going with my mom to the phone company to get a new phone. I must have been pretty young because it's a vague memory.СУГЦЅDAVIГЦЅ🔫💀🌄 wrote:

Depending on when you play and how much you play this could be just the company doing bandwidth throttling (not sure what the policy for that is in US) but for canada they do it for sure. Its how they regulate network traffic and stop congestion. Usually affects streaming and my download speeds from filesharing sites.

Yeah, the fastest rate ever recorded was like, 102.5 mB/S, on closed network. -

I still complain at 47mbps and 7.2mbps.
Mainly cos I pay for 50mbps. -
To those of you who suggested turning the router off for a minute and then restarting it THANK YOU!!!! I did that with my internet box and router and then ran a speed test and the speed was back to what it used to be. I was thrilled to play my baseball game online once tonight and then play Madden as smoothly as it would be if I was offline. Thanks a lot! I thought I had tried this a month ago to no avail. Either something changed this time or I misremember (which is probably the case. I'm on my way to being old and scenile)
