Excuse me? REAL football is soccer. Every other country in the world says soccer in some form of the word fùtból. Then the Americans come along and call it a completely different name.

Gridiron? What with all that padding and helmets? Oh and stop start? Now watch State of Origin (Rugby League) NSW vs QLD. Many would say that is the toughest game (as in most physical) of football in the world. Your Gridiron players are nit up to that, and lately our AFL players are taking up roles as kickers in Gridiron when they retire. I mean I like watching it on TV because they cut out all the breaks between the plays but it's not really up there for being a tough game IMO.

👆 you ever heard of David Gillespie or Soloman Haumono or Ruben Wiki? I might be a little biased but gridiron is soft in comparison to rugby league. Haha

Gillespie was a genius but he was also a union player (though I put that in the same league for brutality as league)

For me John Sattler, who in the 1970's broke his jaw during the game. He was off ling enough to basically wrap his jaw closed before he was back on the field. No painkillers required for this tough player.
