How do you hop?

I thought I had figured out the most economical way to hop today till I had a conversation with another player.
So, my questions are these:
What influence do you use to hop?
What items do you use to get that influence?
Is more distance per hop or less money per hop more important to you? -

How far does that let you hop? .4?

So, after tear down, that would cost you 750k per .3/.4 hop...
I have found a way to hop .5 for 414k.
I am wondering if anyone cat beat that as well as the questions above. 😄

I do 135 inf all the way

The lowest influence for a .5 hop is 88. You can do that with 5 graffiti, 6 collectors, 4 razor wires, 1 store front, 2 loading docks and 1 each of loot (no bagman). If you tear down, the final cost per turf (doesn't include planting the turf of course) is 414k.

I don't always hop, but when I do, I prefer the old way: leap frog.

I'm the player Matgie was referring to. For a while I've been doing all the market upgrades minus the warehouse & gambling den, plus all loot except for bagmen. That lets me hop .5 miles.
I then tried Matgie's method. I still get .5 miles, but the cost to plant is about 50-60k higher because I am planting closer to my original turf. (I'm hopping in the middle of nowhere with no other turf around.)

What Mystery says is a great point. I figured .5 was .5 and that the cost of turf would be the same. Mystery hops at 100... The way I said was 88. Cost difference per hop is 212k. But if the actual turf cost is more...

I'm old fashioned, 86 all the way, that way I can tear down without having to unequip loot and get max distance. I don't care about the cash, when it runs low I just go slow.

I use 82 inf. I upgrade everything up to store fronts. Then add all bagmen, liquor lic, union boss., Dist ctr., smug tunl. Then I unequip everything and sell all the other upgrades each hop costs under 200k it's tedious but cost effective.

There's also a thread in the help and strategy forum attempting to find the most economical way to hop but these days I'm thinking MaddHatter is right... real life time is more important than in game money, so it's more important to hop faster than hop cheaper. Then again, I play turf wars and read the forums to waste time, so....
