So, since I'm guessing many of you have idevices 😉 and probably know a thing or two about tech, I've some questions.

1) Which is better: iPad or a tablet?
Regarding functionality, battery life, efficiency, etc.
I'm going to college in the fall if that matters at all. Hoping to maybe get books on it? And movies, because I will have no tv. 😞

2) New or used?
Quality-wise, is there any benefit to a brand new device vs a used one?

3) What's a good price?
For a used iPad/tablet, or new tablet.

4) If I have an iPod and a laptop already, is there even any benefit to getting one?
I guess this one should've been first... But I was thinking an iPad/tablet would be more portable than my laptop, and it'd save memory space on my computer.

Any thoughts? Thanks!

Get a refurbished iPad 2 64gb from apple. Cheapest way to get a new one, if there's anything wrong with the refurbished one you get a brand new one for free. From what i've used on my buddies iPad it's great with notes and writing papers- fits college and HS needs beautifully. Just my opinion ✌ If you're waiting awhile to get one i'll give you a full review in a few weeks when i get mine.

The thing to remember is that while you can useit to read, listen to music, games, and movies it isnt a replacement for a computer.

👍 It's basically a mix between a MacBook Air and an iPhone. If you need to be able to run discs or a stick drive, go ahead and get a MacBook Pro. But just for reading books and the things you mentioned, it's really good.

My school gives us iPads and It is cool at first it make notes a lot better but at the same time it is a big distraction and I think a laptop would be better like the ones with the screen you can write on

iPad is awesome for me, since I like to read stuff, and play this. I also can pretty much do whatever I need to do on a PC, on this now. Jailbreaking is worth it.

Ditto on all th iPad info! Only way anybdy cn get mine is if im sedated! HAHA TRUTH! Its also used in my cogntv an occu therpy.

Refurbished sounds pretty good, but also what about used? Or is that a bad idea?

Used can have a huge amount of problems, even if it says it's in perfect condition it may not be. Plus, even on ebay they're more expensive than camping the apple website for the model/color/generation you want, so i'd still go with a refurbished one from the apple website.

I just found an iPad 2, 32g (used) for $175. They said they got it for Christmas but hardly used it... I asked if there was any damage and for pictures...we'll see what happens now...

I am excited 😱 yet skeptical 😒...

Also it's hard to compare and IPad to another Tablet. The best for multimedia over all is an android tablet. But I think school wise the IPad would probably have an advantage with its IBooks ecosystem. Thing to remember is it won't replace a computer in all aspects. Also TW is only for IOS. Not Windows or Android.

I got lucky. I didn't have to choose. I won mine at an arcade.
