  Everyone I know that's gotten out it made their lives worse. Damn near impossible to get a decent job and get by, and some came out severely messed in the head, but it all depends on where they are placed, but just for a DUI he should be alright.

  Make sure you write him and encourage him to keep busy, try to get a job in there, read a lot, and stay on of his bills outside of prison or he won't have an easy time when he gets out.

  But write write write even if you're not close And send him one or two stamps with every letter, don't send a whole book of stamps or he can get into trouble with them.

  Hey fish. I've been to prison an county! No matter ur background,race,creed,etc. Ur only gonna change an rehabilitate if u personally want to. Jail is not the determinig factor- that alone is not gonna change ur brother.Also a DUI doesn't make ur bro a bad person- remember everyone makes stupid mistakes.

  Update: brother got out earlier due to over crowding. I read our county is housing state prisoners and are only keeping violent felons. My parents got robbed last night by a guy who's been released multiple times for burglary.
  At tiger, any DUI is a stupid mistake. We are all good people who make stupid mistakes, just most of the time mistakes can be prevented with self control and good judgment.

  My lil sis is in jail right now, got caught shoplifting. As if that wasnt ignorant enough, she failed to do her community service ( basicaly because she didn't want to), so now she gets 30 days.... Maybe she will learn.
