As always 5 things and explain ur reason
-
1 the collector... Based on a true story
2 the strangers... True story
3 when a stranger calls... Based on true events
4 the good son... It creeped me out
5 case 39 or the orphan. They both include inviting someone to your home and then the person isn't as they seem. -
1. Nightmare on elm street
-
1. Psycho - (the original) by far a classic amazing movie. Great job at suspense. Awesome movie.
2. Poltergeist - I remember watching this as a kid freakin out.
3. The Exorcist - thanks to certain members of my family I was young and explained to that "demon possession is real, this is a true story." young, naive, and freaked out.
4. Identity - I don't know if it qualifies as a horror movie or more suspense but I LOVED that movie when I first saw it. "Whores don't deserve a second chance" *stab stab stab* 😱😲
5. A Nightmare on Elm Street - I've always had creepy nightmares this movie really freaked me out back in the day. LolNow I rarely watch "horror" movies, but I prefer more psychological thrillers/suspense movies that may be kind of horror. If Se7en counts as a horror movie I'd place it above identity and bump down a nightmare on elm street.

-Pet Cemetary: The scene where the kid is hiding under the bed with a scalpel, and he slashes the old guy's heel! Ehhhhh... I still hop into my bed.
-The Strangers: Just the masks they wore, and how they acted. Like when they were asked why they were terrorizing the people and they say said "for fun". Oh and the scene in the beginning where the victim is on the phone with her husband, and one of the killers is just standing in the back ground out of focus. It's cool how the music doesnt suddenly get loud and the audience isn't even given a cue that the guy is even there. Your eye is just drawn to the blurry human shape behind her that she doesn't even know is there. So cool. -
-House of 1000 Corpses: The complete 180 the film takes during the last 20 mins. It's just a psychological disturbing slasher movie, until the murdering family decide to toss the last two survivors into a coffin, and lower it slowly into a pitch black well. Then it becomes something I hadn't ever seen before. Just absolute confusion and fear. I still have no idea how the ending could relate to the rest of the movie or how the second movie got away with not explaining the Doctor Satan thing whatsoever.
-The Shining: The subtle things going on in that movie that most people won't even ever catch, or put together.
-Jeepers Creepers: The basement cathedral made out of human bodies that the monster had created.. I was scared that it went through that much effort to mutilate people. -
The collector is not based on a true story, and wasnt scary.

Looking back all of the movies are silly. Or comical in a way. Not scary, that's why I enjoy suspenseful movies or psychological thrillers now, because at least you can kind of be on edge wondering what will happen. As a kid I also thought the movie Candyman? I think it was Candyman or called something similar was freaky. Now it's even more dumb. Also Children of the Corn we had a weird neighbor kid that would come over and watch movies sometimes back in the day, we watched the whole series every night was a new movie, and every night he would get bloody noses. Now it's no big deal but back then it creeped me out. LolϮђěՏϻօҡěℳօɲṩϮěℜ wrote:

Yes it is based on a true story, althought some of the events in the movie were made up. I'm sure the real guy did not use acid to block a room. The basic idea is real though. The collector is not based on a true story, and wasnt scary.
