Just curious to see how many of you do web/application development for a living.. Keyword being living .. Not a godaddy website tonight hello world site 😜

0thër and myself both have for some 14+ years a piece. im actually looking for work atm. ccdb.psyomnius.com is a free project we have been working on for tw.

I'm more of the application dev. That and server/networking stuff.
I would do more web development but I can't design for anything... It's difficult when you can't make anything look good.

have you seen ccdb? its hideous. all function 😉 we also run all our own gentoo servers. 7 across 4 states.

Yeah, I guess you're right. Looks really don't matter. But whenever I try to make a site I have in mind that perfect Web 2.0 look and function and I can never achieve it.
That's why I stick to C# for windows haha.
But yeah I don't have the resources to run 7 servers yet so I'm starting with one. It's just an old poweredge server (4x Xeon III & 8GB Ram & 12x32gb Disk Array). I picked it up for $50 on eBay and installed Ubuntu server edition. 7 servers is pretty impressive though.

I do it as a side hobby, done a couple jobs though. Had my main website up since 1999. Working on a turf wars fan site as well. Self taught, so I'm not mr web ace, but I get by ;-)
