Hey everyone,
As those of you who get up before I do already know, version 1.61 of Turf Wars is LIVE on the App Store. This is a technical release that will set the stage for some exciting new features!It includes:
- A brand spanking new geocoder! This new geocoder is more reliable (i.e. less "undetermined" locations), has more accurate city info, and is overall a much better quality system.
- improvements to iOS4 multitasking
- Bug fixes and performance improvements
An important note about the geocoder. The new geocoder may return different city names for turf in the same area, so there may be some split capos etc while we update all the existing turfs' data on the server.

Also I made a turf in Muncie but it popped up in Springfeild Ohio. And the previous Capo told me the same thing as well.

So all of our existing turf is going to reflect the new geocoder's data? I hope that's what you're saying.

This is what I was getting at. Kapaa town for example. The old geo says Kapaa everywhere it should. But now, some new subdivisions appear, i.e Wailua Homesteads. Technically, and according to USPS there is no Wailua Homesteads. It is Kapaa.
So what I wanted to know, is will my "Kapaa" turf in the newly recognized "Wailua Homesteads" change on it's own? I will not be submitting requests if it does not. Mostly wondering what will happen.

It's good to see an app continuously updating and looking for new ways to improve! I have updated turf wars more than any other app since I've had my iPhone! Thanks for continuously evolving the game amigo 👍

And either way the old turf names shake out is fine by me. I can live with what they say.
I love the new geocoder. This is definitely one of the best updates yet. My actual town is finally recognized.

What about captured turfs? If they are actually in the wrong location will they be put back?

I'm at work so I haven't been able to play with it yet. Can anyone tell me if it changes hopping on highways and interstates at all

Sometimes the geocoder will pick the official "administrative" name for a location and sometimes the "colloquial" names that most people use. I.e. in Los Angeles, Westwood and Palms show up as "cities", but Hollywood and Bel Air don't - they're all part of the city of LA. Ya Nick. I like to find all the glitches in new updates and I found a few. I don't really wanna post em here. Only because others will use them as quick as possible. What way can I tell?

Stop moaning about ur poncy capos of idiot land nick has fixed some important issues that keep the game alive . Well done

When the turfs are updates, does that mean some turfs might be reclassified and thus the player lose capo status? I think that'd suck for some people who've held the capo status for a long time or might have invested a decent amount of in game cash planting those turfs where the geocoded said was the city. Is there at least a way to get like a small warning about turfs that will be reclassified before it goes into effect that way we can plant new turfs in the correct city in order to maintain capo status?
