It uses google maps from the website, not from the app. So we're fine👍

Is it bad that the first thing I thought of when I first viewed the C3 demo of their new map product, I was like: "Oh I'd sure like to pwn some turf on this platform."
I know it's probably just waaaay too much work for our beloved dev here at TW, but cities look amazing!

I don't think TW will switch over to apple maps. Too much work. But when they release the android version of TW that might be on apple maps.

More than likely this won't happen. Android is strictly a Google platform. That being said it is easier for a developer to use a Google product than a rival company's product on such a platform.I don't think TW will switch over to apple maps. Too much work. If apple makes their own maps instead of using google maps, they're basically saying "Hey look everybody, we don't know how to run a company!" It's transparent to TW, but it's still a horrible business decision.

Why? Have you seen the level of 3D detail on these maps. It's so beautiful. I could see the waves coming in on the water. Why a horrible business decision?
Are you trying to tell us that competition entering the market in Google Maps arena is a bad thing? If so, why?
I find it a surprising business decision but that's probably my own ignorance on the issue, right?
Why don't you explain to us WHY it's such a bad decision for apple to have made?

You are definatley wrong apple does have more cash on hand than the us treasury 76 billion to 74 billion. The national debt is over 15 trillion apple couldn't even make a small dent in the national debt.💀ՏɧʀɪɲʉϮ💀+₅₅₂ wrote:

Apple has cash because they hoard it. Most companies spend it in some way, often by investing in their own company or other fledgling companies, or by paying dividends to their shareholders. Apple, however, with a share price over $600, has declared it's first dividend payment since 1995. So, for 17 years, apple stock has been overvalued by 100%. The only reason to buy it was to sell it when the price/share went up. And who's buying at $300/share or more? Not me, not without dividends. Frankly, it's rude not to pay dividends when you have more cash than most other companies.
-
Also, their dividend is $2.65 per share, or a 1.8% yield. Shitty. Less than a high yield CD. They don't want to pay any more because they'd have to pull money out of foreign banks and end up paying US income tax on it. So not only are they stingy to their investors, who literally saved the company over and over again, but they're trying to dodge federal tax obligations.
-
As for the Treasury, why would they have cash on hand? They print money and hand it out. If they wanted to, they could have more cash, but they don't want to fire up the presses because they are still operating on their last run of cash. Comparing apple to the treasury is like comparing apples to sharks.
-
Sounds like they do know what they're doing dodging the tax man. And it's a pretty safe investment even in 95. They need money to develop new ideas like that thing in your hand.
-
Investing in apple in 95 wasn't an investment, it was a gamble. Not the majority of investors, but the majority of stock purchases is by people who want income, and as far as income on a stock, apple blows.
-
My favorite stock has paid out $7.48 per share in dividends over the past 17 years; $0.11 per share, quarterly, for 17 years. Nearly 3 times what apple paid in the same amount of time. And it only trades at around $30-$40, meaning I was able to buy a LOT more shares than if I bought apple, and thus earn a LOT more money.
