Ok, I have been thinking of putting together a TW get together in Portland, Oregon. I have heard this idea tossed around and that it was successful once before. I have no idea how many people would show, so I have no idea what kind of venue to rent out. Memorial collosium or just a small park. A few question for the grand TW family.
1. How many would attend?
2. Is Oregon a good enough location for those of us on the west coast? I know it's a long drive or flight for some, but hey, sorry. Portland is beautiful.
3. Is this even something people would attend?I have more questions but these are the most pertinent to me right now. If this is a successful idea than there will be more to come in this thread. If this idea is a bomb and no one would show, then I will just delete this and head back to the drawing board.
Thanks for the read,

One other idea was, if we have multiple venues going at once, we could have large projectors with each of the parties going on. So all you have to do is look up at the screens and see the other get togethers. I have done this with multiple car shows at once. Since you couldn't be at two at once, it was great. You could see the other cars, and best of all the women. (sorry ladies no offense, but I like a good looking women.)
Please post ideas or problems that y'all may see rear it's ugly head.
Again, Thank You all,

Meeting in RL scares me. Some people are psychotic and I've had my life threatened many a times over an iapp. All it takes is one psycho. Good luck though lol

This is a very good point. There are a lot of people who wouldn't mind a quick shot at someone for messing up thier turf. What would be an effective way of making sure that there would be no violence. Besides having Sammy around and his military experience.Meeting in RL scares me. Lol idk. I don't trust any of you. I know Nick and the bigger players get together but even that seems crazy to me.Funky Buffalo wrote:

I think with the proper security and a proper cover charge, the crazies have a better chance of getting weeded out. Also, I would like to have name tags with screen name and/or real name. Real name being optional.

Our first So Cal one was at downtown San Diego bar and we had six or seven come.
Second one was at a Dave and busters, we had about ten. Both times we had a great time

I met 15 members of my longtime MMO gaming guild at the first Blizzcon in Anaheim. We all even went to Disney land together since it is literally right across the street from Blizzcon. It was cool putting a face to the voices I'd been hearing on teamspeak three times a week and and had know since everquest and dark age of Camelot were new MMOs.

What I would be scared of is coming and completely destrying my image of people.
Say Tweek. I imagined him to be some kind of muscle man. If I went and found out he lied and was actually 53 with a long gray beard and circular glasses, I would barf. -
I haven't heard someone say "Barf" in years. Nice.
And green. Did meeting them destroy your image at all, or is there any regrets to meeting these people in real life? It's said that you shouldn't meet your heros. It is never the same after. Has any of this become a problem at all for you?
