So you want MrBigshot to be able to carry around a gun without you knowing and let him wave it around after he's had a few shots of whiskey?
(just spicing it up)

That would fall under the regulations. I would believe in no firearms in a bar, or you cannot consume/be served alcohol in a bar while armed. Again, it all falls under the responsibility of the trained individual.

I live in the south where everyone carries a shotgun to church.Haha this is a crazy topic to read for me. I'm from Canada and personally I don't know how you feel safe knowing everyones just walking around with a 9 holstered. I own guns but to carry them around with me casually with me is a criminal offense, a big one. Needless to say I feel completely safe. Statistics also prove that Canada has a lower crime rate.

Guns in bars is a bit silly.
You shouldn't operate heavy machinery while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, so you shouldn't operate a firearm either. Thar be laws agin' it matey! Arrrrrr!

Couldn't have said it better myself. It's a state issue and they should be able to do what their people wish. Provided they follow the constitution (IL).Im a strong supporter of the 2nd amendment, and i own an arsenal of weapons. That being said, issues like this should be left up to the state and local governments as stated in the 10th amendment.

What about open carry. That should be legal in all 50!

Open carry has nothing to do with one example of taking a loaded weapon to an establishment that serves mostly alcohol.
-
Once you consume alcohol you are no longer allowed to carry
-
That would apply to open carry as well. That is correct.
-
Probably shouldn't go to parent teacher conferences carrying as well.
-
Plus open carry defeats the purpose of a ccw
-
Just stating that they both should be legalized in all 50. Not that one is better than the other. Just that the decision should be up to you.

I work late friday and saturday shifts in a very bad part of los angeles. I am a petite girl and have to walk through a sketchy dark alley on my way to gigs and the men in this neighborhood always harass me. I would feel much more comfortable if i was to carry a concealed weapon so i could defend myself if i were to get into a bad situation. but i do think some kind of psychological exam should be given to those wanting a permit and even that might not be enough.
-
Now I bet if you were to carry a firearm on your outter most garment, you may not be hassled at all. I don't know if I agree that Americans constitutional rights should be contingent upon a psyc eval.
