I'm in the market for a new amp because my line six spyder just isn't cutting it anymore. Any suggestions? I need something kind of versatile and I play anything from country to heavy metal. I like orange amps the few times I've played them. Anyone have an orange amp? If not, what do you use and how well do you like it? I hope to hit up the guitar stores this weekend and want to know what to try out.

I take it you mean a spider line 6? Great amp, just make sure right foot pedal.

Yeah that's what I mean. It's a spider IV 15. Don't get my wrong it was a great starter amp, it's just time to upgrade. The amp is starting to go bad. And I have a digitech DF-7 pedal with it. Love the pedalI take it you mean a spider line 6? Great amp, just make sure right foot pedal.

Vox Valvetronix 20+ or 40+ depending on how loud you need to go. Their amp models blow the others away. I didn't like the orange solid state amps at all. Their tube amps are a different story but given you are coming from a Line 6 Spider, I'm guessing you are looking for a step up in the practice amp arena, and not a gigging tube amp.
But give the Vox a try. Love mine.

My guitar teacher has a vox and I've tried it out a few times. I liked it. I'm just not sure what size. I did want a tube amp, but those are most likely out of my price range. Vox amps. Thanks for your help. -
I love my Marshall mg100. It's a lower-end model, but it has a beautiful clean tone and with the right pedal is capable of a very heavy punch for metal riffing. When chunkin out some palm muted riffs you can feel it like a punch in the chest.

Are you gigging or is it strictly for practice?

I'm partial to the dr z amps.

Orange is nice, but I love my Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier.

I have orange and Marshall amps. I tend to use the orange ones more, I would definitely recommend them, the sound is fantastic. O and they look cool too

Marshall.

My tube amps are Marshall. I love the little Class 5. Takes pedals well. Gets fricken loud too!
But for a practice amp, the Vox is versatile. Lots of cool sounds plus nice chimey Vox cleans. Plus the audio input is nice to plug in my iPod and jam along with tracks.

I like the Fender Deville. I had two different Marshall amps before, but I like the Deville.
