Who was there? What did you see? Was it racially motivated or socioeconomic-rumspringa? Video camera vigilantism? Police brutality? Are we better off today? Were we that poorly off before? Other countries what was your impression?

I was there. Watched the fires from a high rise near Wilshire and Vermont. I lived in Long Beach at the time. I recall my friend who had a business on P.C.H. spending nights on the roof of the business, armed against looters.

Why did it happen? Local law enforcement, especially the LAPD, was unprepared for the gangs that used the Simi Valley verdicts to rape and pillage their neighbors.

I've always felt if the locals were truly agrieved by the verdict, they should had driven to Simi Valley and burned it to the ground. Instead, for the most part they wrecked their own neighborhoods, hurting themselves and those around them.👎

None taken, we do tend to be a bit egocentric. That's why I asked for an abroad opinion, but google could explain the L.A. riots much better than I could. Somehow I doubt your inquiry to be a serious one though... and yes, Hollywood is adjacent to Los Angeles, google could solve your geography inquisition as well.

While the rioting wasn't justified the cops handling rodney king shouldnt have beat him up the way they did
