The goriest books I've ever read were called "Loch" and "Reef of Death." In Loch, a guy gets chewed in half by a lake monster and his blood starts falling from the sky. Then they see the guy's leg floating in the water. In Reef of Death as this guy's being eaten, he sees his intestines float around him.

Lunar Park, dog tries to kill man when its being "transformed" (skin ripped off, intestants pusher out of the dog falling all over, and the blood!) into a demon.

Both books by Bret Eaton Ellis (American Psycho & Lunar Park)

Lunar Park is being made to a film atm and released in 2011!
