Okay guys I have had this on my mind all day.
When I was in 6th grade I read a series dedicated to talking animals that fought eachother pretty violently and many of the good guys lived at a Briary. These books looked 20 years old then so I'm guessing they'd be 30ish years old.
I'm a little fuzzy on the details but I distinctly remember a
Monk Mole
Warrior Foxes and Ferretts
Some mischievous rabbit(maybe).
Evil snake and hawk(another maybe)
Each story had a moral overtone, but the gore in the series was pretty bad even for it being animals.
I just can't remember the name! I've googled and even binged(I was desperate). I think I will have to raid my old middle school library if I want to find them unless I can find the name.
Did anyone else read these?
Even if you can't remember the title but remember tidbits of the stories, that would help. Thanks guys. -
Redwall?
-
Hunger Games: PETA disapproved edition
-
Water ship down?
-
Oh and on each cover there was always an intricate drawing of either a battle or the Briary in which the animals lived.
I'm pretty for sure there was a whole story dedicated to a warrior ferret. -

That's it! I was wrong about the date(the oldest was ~20 years old but my library never took care of its books). I need to reread these. It instantly came to me when you said it.Redwall?
Thanks man!
Ps Is he still writing them? If so I know what I'm reading after finishing The Game of Thrones series. -

How is that series? I should read it.
Warriors is a series similar to the one you're talking about. They're by Erin Hunter. -
Yep, Brian Jacques.

It was excellent, although im fuzzy on the specific details. But, you won't get attached to any specific characters, if I remember correctly, the author always tells a different story at a different time at Redwall, the only character that is constantly in the series is a famous warrior who usually is in ghost form. How is that series? I should read it.

He was a mouse who founded Redwall. -

Ohh the Game of Thrones! Well, to put it shortly they are great. You get really invested into characters. The quick plot story is there is several families( known as houses) vying for power over a realm. During this many wars commence but the focus in my opinion is on the political positioning of the various characters vying for power. You get many different perspectives( each chapter is a diff characters experience) of a situation which may bias you on what is happening there. You end up loving and or hating several characters. The characters interactions together make the series for me. I can't say too much without ruining plot points.YOU wrote:

Also, what is yalls general opinion on the Redwall series. I'm going to have to reread it but as I remember, I liked it much more than Harry Potter(and I love Harry Potter especially back then). It got a little dull at times but it was an excellent read back then.

Salamanstradon is the best book.

Another good series is Ender's Game, if you like sci-fi. -

Speaking of good books, why doesn't TW have a book club? We have enough people that seem to be interested in reading. Anyone else like this idea?
-
I'll start a Pal group!
-
Called it TW bookworms.
-
I joined
-
I loved the show when I was a kid, I'd still watch it if it came on.
-
Just an update, I bought Redwall at Barnes and Noble today. Reading it after I finish a Feast for Crows(pt4 of Game of Thrones series)
-
Redwall rocks, but I prefer Salamanstrom, if I was picking a place to live 😝
Marlfox was my favorite book though... "no beast can kill a Marlfox"
"Omg he's dead" -
