Electric cigarette
Forums › General Discussion › Electric cigarette-
As a pharmacist, I've seen all of these methods as successes and failures. A huge percentage of people fail on their first try. Don't ever let that discourage you! You have to have a never surrender attitude and keep trying until they are a thing of the past. You already know the reasons why you should quit. It only takes ~3 days to rid the body of nicotine...it takes MUCH longer to break the effects on the mind. That is really the key...breaking the habit. If you don't have your head in the game, you are less likely to succeed. PM me if you would like more personal advice.

Cold turkey was the only way I could do it

Barring sheer willpower, think about a ticket on the Zyban/Wellbutrin train. Has done wonders for friends of mine. Just don't do it if you've been diagnosed as bipolar. Then, it's no bueno.

Ecig and willpower work well.... As well as these "surprises" (ie blowjobs) ur gf is gonna give u :p

They curb the nicotine factor, but, being water vapor, it doesn't have the same feeling as if you were smoking. Didn't work for me, but I say give it a shot!

Funny , I bought a e-cig from joyetech , I received it on Monday , since then , I didn't smoke ! I'm vaporizing e-juice that has nicotine tho . It's just amazing , I tried to quit several times without success , & now , it seemed so easy !

Haha I'm tempted to try chantix just for the nightmares.......I'd like to quit smoking too. Only because it's so expensive. But get a good nightmare or two with it. Plus plus in my books haha. Haven't had a good nightmare in YEARS. Ugh I miss them.👿Belial wrote:

You have insurance see if you can get chantix. It helped my my mom and stepmom both quit 2-3 pack a day 35 year habit. They both said the dreams were grippy but both have been smoke free for 4 years now I think.✂

Patches worked for me, also. But I started up again after several months. I'll probably go back to the patches when I'm ready to stop again.Patches worked for me. Been smoke free for 7 yrs now.

good point about the water vapor, through years of smoking ecigs and continuous inhalation of water vapor, its dangerous as well, it could build up water in the lungs...its better than smoke I guess. another reason why I would not use ecigs is because they are not approved so the manufacturing company you choose could lie about the amount of niccotine and the quality of the chemicals used in the cartridge potentially making you more addicted... I personally am still in the process of quitting. I time myself, started smoking 1 every half hour then the next week every 35 mins or more, then every 40 mins etc.. if you have the will power to quit by all means quit it takes about 21 days to break a habit... also in between cigs try an oral fixation by either chewing gum or a breath mint something that will change the way a cigg will taste.

yes.My girl is trying to convince me to quit smoking. I get a "surprise" if I'm successful. Any pointers? Anyone know if electric cigarettes help? Tbh I am not sure if I want to quit.
When she first "prepares" herself for the surprise, you need to reach in your nightstand for your "electronic cigarette". -

If you don't really want to stop smoking then it doesn't matter if you go for e cigs or patches.... They simply won't work if your hearts not in itI am between trying the patch, buying the ecigs or just continuing to smoke. To be honest, more toward the latter option. I do enjoy smoking. Its mainly for my girl and my kids that makes me want to quit.

I got the mrs an e-cig, she has been 8 week without smoking and only really uses her e-cig when stressed or when havin a drink now.

There is a book called " Allan Cars Easyway to Stop Smoking" and it is amazing! Forget all the other methods they don't work. This book allows you to continue smoking while it reverses the brainwashing that makes you think you enjoy smoking. EVERYONE should read this book.

Here's the issue though, if you really don't wanna quit then you won't. The notion of wanting to do it for your family is a nice thought, but ultimately you need to want to do it for yourself.

That's the thing about e-cigs. It's not quitting. It's switching. Much better for you but you're still addicted to nicotine. I tried gum and patch didn't work and I refuse pills. I've been smoke free for 5 days now. I ordered Swedish snus. In the past 5 days I've only used 2 pouches. I'm not switching to snus but it's a great stop smoking aide. Just make sure you use it as an aide and not a replacement. But quitting ain't easy mate. I have to fight my urge everyday passing the wawa by my house. It takes a mind reboot to be able to quit. It's do-able you gotta make the decision and stick to it.

I agree that it's kind of switching , but switching for something better . There's much more chemical products in the cigarette than in the e-liquid. -
The water vapor thing is backwards. The liquid doesn't contain any water. It uses glycerin to produce the water vapor from your mouth. Rather than an excess of water in you you tend to dry out instead. It's important to drink more or you can get a scratchy throat.

About the industry that could lie about the content of the e-liquid , I mean , it's not like they want to hide something , they want regulation .
-
Eciggs are wayyy better for you than regular cigarettes and some are FDA approved, there are no extra added chemicals. there's been a huge research on it and it was named one of 2011's health trends. No chemicals/tar

The ecigs don't do shit for me, idk If it's the amount of nicotine or the nasty taste in the back of my throat but as I smoke the ecig it makes me want a real cigarette...

Good news, cigarette juice!

I smoked 3 packs a day when I quit I tried the gum I didn't like it then tried Chantix that didn't help the patch worked the best of all those options but I kept going back to cig's I had a heart attack at 46 years old and in pretty good shape ! That worked been smoke free since !

Also the nicotine level is up to you, some use no niccotine at all, so to say there is alot of nicotine is false.
