They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.Lest we forget....

Australians all let rejoice
For we are young and free
.....
ADVANCE AUSTRALIA FAIR!! -
They went with songs to the battle, they were young.
Straight of limb, true of eyes, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them. -
I'm in the RAN (Royal Australian Navy) and I celebrate ANZAC day every year with my mates and pay my respects to my great grandfarther. Lest we forget

Lest we forget - ww1 history written by the victors "British" they tended to take the credit and assign the blame. Anzac (Australian New Zealand Army Corps) or the AIF (Australian Imperial Force) we know what we did and that's the important thing. We held in the darkest of days when the French soldiers were shooting there officers and runing, we held, we dug in and drew the line, we prevailed now almost a 100 years later if you visit certain French villages they remember as well, once a year they too become Anzacs because they have had the stories passed down to there children, it's a humbling experence to be in a French village as an ex vet and be told what you're countrymen did for that village, they are proud to have the flag over the bar. I stayed there that week walking through the fields trying to picture it. Words can't explain
